When a disaster strikes, will you be prepared?

The Federal Emergency Management Agency would like to remind everyone that September is National Preparedness Month. The time to take action is now. Make a plan to keep your family and pets safe during the natural disasters that may impact your community.

The theme for National Preparedness Month 2015 is "Don't Wait. Communicate. Make Your Emergency Plan Today."

FEMA encourages everyone to develop a disaster preparedness kit and talk to your family and neighbors about what you would do if a disaster strikes.

Each week in September focuses on a different community preparedness theme:

  • Week 1:  September 1-5th            Flood
  • Week 2:  September 6-12th          Wildfire
  • Week 3:  September 13-19th        Hurricane
  • Week 4:  September 20-26th        Power Outage
